TrancePoetics is an online trance writing experience
designed to open your creative process
through the medicines of language
and imagination.

Dear subscribers to Trance Poetics:

Firstly, thank you for being a subscriber — I started this blog ten years ago and I have been evolving with it, very slowly.

The present pandemic circumstances have led me to think long and hard about what it means to be supported, and to offer support at the same time.

One thing I know for sure is that trance (a synthesis of intention and imagination) is one of the keys that has enabled humans to survive periods of extreme difficulty when the voids of loneliness, despair, systemic violence, and foiled dreams threaten to sink us. My father committed suicide so when I say this, it’s not with haste.

To offer as many resources as I can to you, I’ve assembled an online course which includes 12 mini-lectures, 15 writing prompts, and 8 guided visualization recordings that I have gathered from over ten years of teaching Trance Writing workshops in a variety of academic, poetic, and healing spaces including: Poet’s House, The Open Center, Small Press Traffic, Spalding University, Manhattanville College, The Poetry Project at St Mark’s Church, Poetry Coop, and Naropa University.

I have the course organized so that you can dip in and dip out whenever you want to –there is no timeline and no expiration date (except in the cosmic sense.)

Trance Writing Community

Purchasing the course will also give you access to the first phase of my Trance Writing Sphere: a monthly, community Trance Writing Zoom session: we write together, listen to a brief teaching, and then share writing.

You’ll also have access to all sorts of updates to the content — new visualizations and teachings will be shared monthly!

As an offering in this deeply fraught time when trance activities are so important to our collective and individual mental health, I’m offering this course for only $88 (normally $120). This is an amount that both supports me as a healing artist, and hopefully gives you a sense of value and support.

That said, if you are truly struggling financially to put food on your table or a roof over your head, please email me with your Pay From The Heart offer. If you need the support, I want you to have it!

Thanks again for reading!
